The 4th Annual Grateful Getdown far out-shined last year's. This year's line-up was very good. Cabinet, Train Jumpers, Mystery Train, all had brilliant sets
One Late-night indoor stage, and the outdoor stage. This year, the outdoor stage was great - much bigger than last year - with much better groups. I do not get excited about indoor venues.
There is plenty of flat room to camp. You might even get close to an electrical outlet. Indoor flush toilets. A nice creek lies just 50 yards away. Some sites have shade. Food vendors offered basics only (pizza, fries, wraps). The fest did not think to sell ice. It's 90 degrees out. This is a foolish decision. They frustrate almost every camper, and loose an opportunity to make extra money. All camping festivals should offer ice (and firewood) for sale!
Cabinet played 4 sets, all brilliant. Bluegrass roots, with funk, and wild trips.
Festival favors readily availablr
My new 12x12 Coleman canopy looking good...
That's going to be hard to get back in the box. So, I learned (the hard way) that 12x12 canopies just candle handle a strong wind. More than just mine collapsed. The 10x10s held up better.
Since I couldn't get cellphone service, the phone stayed in the car.
